Fantastic Holiday
Botswana Wildside Lodge Safari
<p>Fantastic holiday. the guides were great, the safaris excellent (we saw a leopard each day for four days and a litter of hunting dogs amongst other things). Victoria falls is amazing. Botswana is beautiful and the people are so friendly. we went in July and it was very cold some mornings so take fleeces/jacket/hat and gloves. The schedule is non stop so if you don't like getting up early each morning then think again- the latest start we had was 7.30 except for the last day when we opted for ... an optional start of 7 am for the white water rafting. White water rafting was superb but there is a fairly punishing walk down to and from the gorge. The guides Chris and Valentine were superb and really added to the trip. generally an excellent trip- we will be back!</p>

Excellent trekking , amazing scenery, faultless trekking crew

<p>Really well organised trip, everything ran very smoothly. Our trekking crew were amazing, always smiling and working hard to give a great all round service.We had nothing to think about apart from the walking. Food was excellent ,with good variety, no one was ill and we did eat the salads. The altitude makes the trip harder but the scenery is worth it. The guiding up the peak was just right with excellent safety and use of rope when needed.</p>

Great Riding, Fantastic Guide, Wonderful Cultural Experience
High Trails of Macedonia
<p>Best-guided trip I've ever been on. Definitely the best for meeting and talking with local people. Alex is super gregarious and he was always happy to help us talk with people we met while riding. Made the trip very special for us. It was a great experience to meet so many amazingly friendly people in Macedonia. Definitely the best food I've had on any KE trip. Exceptional home cooked meals with local families Alex knows. Excellent hidden gem restaurants. Great riding too! I'd highly ... recommend to anyone.</p>

Excellent Trip / Amazing Guide

An Excellent, Beautiful, Fun Challenge - Not For the Faint Hearted!
Ultimate Tour du Mont Blanc
<p>We (Father and Daughter team) have just returned from the first UTM trip for 2016 and cannot stop talking about it! We had an outstanding 10 days in the Alps and highly recomend this trip to all who love beautiful scenery, a mixture of accommodation styles and and varied, long walking days. There were so many highlights; in particular some charming refuge experiences (the setting of Cabane D'Orny is magical), outstanding viewpoints such as the Fenetre d'Arpette, the Grand Col Ferret and the ... Iron Cross above the Col de Balme and high quality facilities at Yeti Lodge, such as a sauna and jacuzzi for a well-deserved relax! We could not have asked for a more caring, organised, knowledgable guide, Chris Pound, who also shared with us his wonderful sense of humour and love for M&amp;Ms! We mostly experienced blissful sunshine although there were large amounts of snow to walk through on certain higher paths (unexpected in July!) so poles were extremely useful. We also advise taking plentiful Swiss Francs and extra snacks to compliment the provided packed lunch. Although the UTM is tough - it requires a high level of fitness for the long days and steep ascents/descents - it gave us a huge sense of achievement and we loved every single day. We agreed that it has been our favourite walking holiday for years (and we have experienced many excellent ones between us!). All that is left to say is a massive thank you to our lovely group, our amazing guide and all of the KE staff. So what are you waiting for? Time to take on the UTM challenge!</p>

Great Trekking in Norway
Traverse of the Jotunheimen
<p>I'm just back from the Traverse of the Jotunheim - a really wonderful trip hut-to-hut trek through stunning scenery. Our guide Jakob was excellent, generally happy for us to go at our own pace and a really friendly and helpful guy. The Bessegen ridge was a highlight and clearly the most popular walk in Norway with hundreds of people on it. The ascent of Galdhopiggen, Norway's highest peak, was also outstanding. The huts were great with superb food and good facilities. The trekking was hard ... with long days and heavy packs but we were rewarded with amazing mountain scenery, lots of soft snow and numerous waterfalls. Norway is very expensive so be prepared but we were also lucky with largely sunny weather. Highly recommended.</p>

a challenging but beautiful experience
Best of Corsica's GR20
<p>We were a small group of 5, all roughly similar in experience and ability - and blessed with an excellent local guide. The arrangements all worked very well, the refuges can be a bit of a challenge but the atmosphere was friendly and the food surprisingly good, and we had stunning weather. The scenery is very variable, always beautiful and often extremely rugged. This is definitely not a walk for the faint-hearted, 2 days in particular were tough but that simply contributed to an overall ... sense of achievement at the end. Overall. a brilliant experience.</p>

A great time was had slogging up Polands highest mountain
Rysy Weekend in the Polish High Tatras

<p>I highly recommend the Rysy weekend it was well organised and all went smoothly good food was provided great scenery and our leader Hubert was brilliant very enthusiastic and a great knowledge on a wide range of subjects including heavy metal ! Summit day was long and exciting and the views across the Tatras fantastic the trip was ended with a traditional Polish meal in the beautiful old town of Krakow.</p>

BEST TREK YET
Choquequirao to Machu Picchu
I chose this trek on recommendation from Lucy one of the KE team and was not disappointed.

From start to finish the trek was expertly managed both by the KE team and our lady guide Kantu Valor Nelgar backed by her assistant Guide Ruben. Kantu’s general knowledge, her friendly approach to her guests and honest desire to please made this trip very special.

The kitchen team headed by Geronimo produced amazing food considering the facilities, each meal presented restaurant fashion, we were ... never disappointed nor hungry. Where possible local produce including eggs were used.

The pace of the trek was correctly judged, based upon Kantu’s assessment of the general ability of the group. A back up horse was provided for those who needed it either to ride or to off load a heavy rucksack.

The long days were never too much to cope with due the frequent drink and snack stops interspersed with lunch. Time was always made for photos and for questions.

The camp sites were well chosen, my favourite situated on the terraces at Pincha Unuyoc which afforded fantastic views Rio Blanco valley coupled with cool spring water, ideal for a mid trek shower and laundry stop.

The views especially at the Totora pass were breathtaking, something I will long remember. The trek up was through fields of giant Peruvian lupins that were in full flower.

Each morning Ruben and his team provided a welcome hot drink and bowl of water to wash with prior to breakfast and an early start to avoid much of the heat of the day.

The variety offered by this trek made it quite special, the knowledge of our guide Kantu making it all the more so.

The hotels used and the transport were good as was the choice of restaurants, we chose not to try guinea pig! preferring the Lama steaks which were delicious.

All in all this will be a trek to remember and to recommend to friends.

Dolomites Via Ferrata

A well thought out itinerary, visiting great huts with excellent food and taking in a number of exiting via ferrata on the way. If you've got a good head for heights don't miss this trip.

Excellent holiday, wish it were longer
Classic Laugavegur Trail Trek

Iceland is a totally different country, well worth visiting, we will return.
Go there expecting and prepared for rain every day then the dry days are a good bonus.
This is a very popular trek full group size of 16 appears normal.
Good food on the trek, everyone helps with preparation or clean up in the remote mountain huts.
We wish we'd booked the optional extension to the trip but are unsure if its offered by KE.

First time with KE, absolutely excellent holiday & fantastic guide.
High Tatras Trekking - The Carpathian Mountains

Great trek. Had no problems. Antoni, the local guide was best guide I've ever experienced. He was a friend as well as a knowledgable & patient guide. As a vegie I have often experienced problems finding reasonable meals but Antoni always sourced them. Great challenging trek with fantastic mountain scenery & comfortable, picturesque accommodation. I stayed on in Krakow after trek & it was a revelation - cheap, friendly & just a beautiful place & very safe to wander + many vegie restaurants!

Good walking routes with some summit scrambling
High Tatras Trekking - The Carpathian Mountains

One of the two best leaders I have been with.
Antoni was a fountain of knowledge about the High Tatras, he has been qualified mountain guide for 7 years and is on the way to a Ph.D. in the ecology of the Tatras.
Krakow, the group meeting place, was well worth staying a few days (very cheap flights from Leeds/Bradford).
Because of hut location (good huts too!) some days are shorter/longer/have a short rail journey.

An Amazing Country with fantastic landscapes
Iceland: The Three Peaks Challenge
What an amazing country Iceland is, from barren lava fields with occasional flowers to green fields with farm animals to vast mountain areas. The towns are few, so stock up on snacks & drinks. Plenty of places to visit like amazing waterfalls, Geysers & ice lagoons to name a few things. Reykjavik has plenty to offers plenty of bars & restaurants with good variety, but some places can be a bit pricey. Many tourist information centres around town with very helpful staff who can help you with ... booking activities & places to visit. I would recommend a visit to Iceland.
