Dishes include baba ghanoush, a dip made from chargrilled aubergines; falafel and shawarma kebabs. Hummus is a staple dish and is often eaten with pita bread. Baklava is a dessert made from layered filo-pastry filled with nuts and date syrup or honey. Dishes are often served in a mezze style; a vast array of smaller dishes creating an array of enticing flavours.
