Job Vacancies - Product Manager and Product Executive

We are currently looking for several motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our busy product team. Positions are available for two product managers and one product executive to help grow our new and exciting product ranges.

The Company and Team

KE Adventure Travel has been operating active adventure holidays throughout the world since 1984. It has grown to be one of the most renowned adventure tour operators in the UK and is one of the market leaders in this sector. The office is in beautiful Keswick in the Northern Lake District.

Anyone joining the company is likely to be passionate about adventure travel and the outdoors. They must also be dedicated to protecting the environment and supporting the company’s pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the next decade.

We are recruiting for a number of roles in our busy Product team. If you are commercially driven, with a desire to deliver great adventure travel product and exceptional customer experiences, we would love to hear from you, especially if you have adventure travel experience from either small group or self-guided product ranges, and a love of the outdoors.

 

 

The Roles

As a Product Manager you will be responsible for creating new adventure holidays and for continually monitoring and improving our existing product range. You will work closely with our overseas ground agents building on and maintaining existing working relationships and making new ones. You will also work closely alongside our operations, sales and marketing teams with challenging targets to meet.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Researching, developing and implementing the launch of new holiday programs either small group or self-guided

• Negotiating prices with ground operators

• Trip costings and managing margins

• Writing sales literature

• Ongoing quality management of existing programs

• Working closely together with other teams, especially Operations, Sales & Marketing

• Building and maintaining relationships with our ground operators

• Keeping up-to-date with market trends and competition

• 24hr Emergency phone assistance on a rota basis

 

 

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Maths and English GCSE, and educated to A level and ideally degree level 

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Commercially driven

• Ability to write good copy

• Ability to work under pressure

• Attention to detail

• Outstanding personal organisation

• Ability to work well within a team

• A people person with great interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people from all backgrounds and walks of life

• Fun, friendly and caring with lots of positive energy

• Ability to be flexible

• Creative and innovative with the talent to solve problems

• The unique skill of knowing what holidays work

• The ability to travel overseas 

• Previous travel industry experience is essential

• Product knowledge through extensive personal travel

As a Product Executive, you will support the Product team, working directly with Product Managers and overseas suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the team and the product. This is a more administrative based position, and would suit someone who thrives on variety and is keen to learn and develop in the role.

 

 

Working Hours and Location

We are ideally recruiting for full-time roles (37.5hrs), although we will consider slightly reduced, or non-standard hours. The Product Executive role may also suit someone looking for a part-time position.

We are currently hybrid working, and expect this to continue (for those who would like to), with the balance of office and home working being continually reviewed as the needs of customers, the business and team members evolve.  

Being flexible is key. We are a relatively small team and it is a seasonal business, so all team members must be willing to help/support other roles or parts of the business at any time. 
 

Travel

There will be opportunities to travel, both in the UK and overseas.
